PRESS: Kremlin may dismiss several regional governors soon
MOSCOW, Feb 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Kremlin plans to dismiss around five regional governors over the next few days, business daily Vedomosti reported Monday citing a former government official and a person close to the Kremlin.
Alexander Khudilainen, head of the republic of Karelia, Oleg Kovalyov, governor of the Ryazan Region, Yevgeny Kuivashov, governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Sergei Mitin, governor of the Novgorod Region, Pavel Konkov, governor of the Ivanovo Region, Viktor Basargin, governor of the Perm Region, and Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, head of the republic of Buryatia, are currently under the spotlight, sources said.
The situation in these regions is quite difficult and requires prompt decisions, another source close to the Kremlin said.
